What we do

Our fundamental ethos is that we deliver buildings that work.

We design buildings that are deliverable, beautiful, practical, innovative (where needed), robust and on time and on budget.

We have an enviable reputation as down-to-earth architects who 'just get things done'. We are technically minded and commercially astute enabling us to deliver projects efficiently and smoothly.

Our core value of People First drives our approach and philosophy across all of the sectors and areas we work in to produce buildings that people genuinely want to live in, use and experience.

Our housing work covers new homes, decarbonisation & retrofit and delivering specific homes to help tackle homelessness. Whilst the majority of our work is housing we have specialists working in professional sport and culture. This mix of projects provides us a wide range of experience but at the core of it all is the passion to deliver buildings that work for people.

New housing

We have years of experience of delivering housing, principally affordable housing. We work with all the major Registered Providers across all RIBA Stages.

We have recieved hundreds of planning permissions, delivering thousands of homes, making a real difference to peoples lives. Our approach is down-to earth with a clear understanding of balancing the sometimes contradictory setting of the local context, with the wishes of the planning authority, with the reality of the budget, with the aspirations of the client and the needs of the end-user.

Our housing projects cover a wide range of development sizes from two or three infill houses to multiple hundred estate redevelopments to portfoilio sites. We operate in urban, suburban and regional areas in London and the South East with projects ranging from the South coast to the Midlands.

If you would like to discuss any new housing project, please get in touch with Penny Fitzpatrick or Dave Hughes:

Fuse Zero - Decarbonisation and Retrofit

Fuse Zero is a dedicated team within Fuse that specialises in the delivery of reduced carbon retrofit projects across the UK. Acting as retrofit designer we are currently working with and delivering multiple projects across a range of portfolios for a wide range of contractors.

We have built up a strong delivery team and can assist clients with understanding the delivery of large scale decarbonisation and retrofit projects and integrate those into wider regeneration and new-build projects.

We understand the requirements and demands of delivering within the Social Housing

Decarbonisation Funding (SHDF) and in line with PAS2035 with the aim of improving energy efficiency certificates to a minimum SAP C rating.

We regularly host webinars and virtual sessions with clients to discuss our approach to retrofit and are happy to provide a bespoke presentation if desired. If you would like to discuss retrofit and decarbonisation, please get in touch with our Technical Director, Matt Tear:

Tackling homelessness

There were over 110,000 households living in temporary accommodation in England as of early 2025, with a record 169,050 children living in such accommodation.

We are working with the UK's leading modular building providers to develop a rapid response modular housing product to help tackle the shocking, national, homelessness crisis. We have developed modular buildings that can be temporarily installed (usually 7-10 years) on un-used sites to get families out of high cost, low quality overnight accommodation (hotel rooms, B&B's) and into purpose built family homes.

If you would like to discuss our approach and the modular products, please get in touch with Penny Fitzpatrick or Dave Hughes:

Professional Sport

We work with several professional football and rugby clubs delivering specialist, top-class, high quality training facilities across the UK.

Our People First core value (for professional sport this translates as player-centric) creates a design philosophy and approach that delivers training facilities that, ultimately, enhance performance. Our approach uses design, program, layout, operational adjacencies, feel, colour, light, to create an environment that is specifically designed to improve training and deliver higher performance.

Culture

We have delivered several, award winning, theatres within London and the South-East.

Our People First core value (for theatre this means really understanding the experience of the audience, users, actors, staff and visitors) creates designs that deliver an outstanding user experience whilst also meeting the technical demands of how a theatre is run.

If you would like to discuss a cultural theatre project, please get in touch with our Design Director, Dave Hughes:
